Tomatin Distillery Shortlisted for Three Categories at Prestigious Highland & Islands Food and Drink Awards.

Tomatin Distillery is celebrating after being named a finalist in three categories, Best Drink, New Product and Environment, for the Highland & Islands Food & Drink Awards.

The Tomatin 14 Year Old Highland Single Malt has been shortlisted for Best Drink. A more recent addition to Highland distillers core range, launching in 2014, it is soft, smooth and sweet, benefiting from its time spent in Tawny Port casks, which previously held port for 50 years.
Shortlisted for the New Product category is Tomatin’s Five Virtues Series. Launched in March this year, this is an innovative collaboration of five striking artworks paired with five unique expressions of Tomatin single malt. Each artwork has been applied to the packaging of its corresponding whisky, influenced by the stages of whisky production. Wood, Fire & Earth are representing this category, as the final two whiskies of the series, Metal & Water, will not be released until 2018.
Being shortlisted for the Environment award is a testament to Tomatin Distillery’s recent advancements in reducing greenhouse gas emission and increasing the use of non-fossil fuels to help the whisky industry become more sustainable and support a low carbon economy.

Delivered in support from Highlands & Islands Enterprise, the Awards celebrate quality, innovation and growth in one of Scotland’s most prosperous industries. Running for 13 years, they showcase the diversity and excellence of the regions food and drink industry, contributing to the reputation of Highlands & Islands as a world food destination.
Winners will be revealed at the awards ceremony hosted by celebrated food critic, journalist and broadcaster Jay Rayner. The ceremony includes a fantastic Scottish dinner, and takes place in the Kingsmills Hotel, Inverness on 20th October 2017. Tickets for the awards dinner are now on sale.
